Sheri, thanks for the entry and being such a great participant already! After this contest dies down, I will come by for a proper visit.

And thanks for the link! I'd like to add one to you too.

No problem Jason. I am the one to be thanking you for all the hard work you are doing and providing us with this contest. It is awesome and it really did so inspire me!

ACtually, I think you were the first one to read it! I so appreciated your comments.

You story with the hit dog really got me. My brain was going a mile a minute... is it a woman? Who would hit a woman and leave her out there? Is it an animal??? I needed to know which drew me to the end. An important lesson - you want your reader to WANT to read!

Thanks for stopping by Charles.

Sheri, I'm stopping by after you stopped by my place. And now I see you write children's literature, but I think I stopped here just a little while ago and didn't comment.

Anyhow, I wrote a children's (young adult even) novel many years ago and just pulled it back out to do re-writes. I'm not sure if it's any good, but for once, I'd like to actually try to get an agent and do something with my stuff instead of just sit on it.

By the way, this contest was a huge departure from my normal style of writing. Normally, I don't take things right from my journal, but if you were ever in past contests, I think you'd know this about me. I just didn't really have anything from the picture, but still wanted to be involved as these contests are a blast.

Hey Beth, thanks for visiting me too.

So what do you write? I have a few screenplays tucked away in the bottom of a drawer. I suppose like your YA that has now resurfaced.

This is the first contest I have entered. It was fun. The picture prompt, reading over 30 comments to something I wrote! That was a blast!! Reading all the other entries - That was very interesting too - to see how a single picture and not one story the same... A very time comsuming endeavor for Jason! I don't know how he does it.

Not to take anything away from Jason Evans, afterall, it is his contest, but if I were the judge ...

Hi Sheri,

I'm glad to see that you are taking Jason's contest in the total spirit it was intended. I've met many new friends because of it in the past, and it's nice to see that you are reaching out to the blog community. Beth and I go way back.

Thanks for the kind comments on my blog, and I hope to see you around once in a while. I've been kind of scarce lately, but I'm trying to mount a come back.

I'm glad you liked my comments on your story by the way. You never know how people will take things!

Hey Scott, so glad to "see" you. Yes, it is an amazing thing to bring all of us together like this and that hopefully we will all reach out to one another and learn more about our fellow writing peers. This has been a great experience, no matter the outcome!
