Things to Ponder While I'm Gone and the Eastern State Penitentiary

I will be going on brief hiatus while I focus on trying to write 50,000 words this month for NaNoWriMo. I may, or may not, get the chance to post or visit your blogs, so just in case... have a great November and I guess... a Happy Thanksgiving!

While I am gone, here are some things to ponder...

Why is it that when you transport something by car, it's called a shipment, but when you transport something by ship, it's called cargo?

and...

Why do we play in recitals and recite in plays?

Oh and...

Why isn't phonetic spelled the way it sounds?

And if you are in Philly between now and November 3rd, be sure to check out the Eastern State Penitentiary. My family and I (just the teens and grown-ups) go ever year to Terror Behind the Walls. We have a blast every year! So, if you can go, I highly recommend it!

I don't think I can do it all, my freelancing, blogging, and the contest. I can't have the freelancing go so... Also, to tell you the truth, once I made this decision, I felt some how younger. lighter, like suddenly I have so much time on my hands...


But it will be a hard habit to break...

Seriously, I'm rooting for you all the way. I'm in awe of anyone who can write almost an entire novel in one month, so my hat's off to you, Sheri.

I've known many a professional writer who has taken time off from blogging when in the middle of writing a novel, so you're keeping excellent company. No need to feel bad. The rest of us will get by . . . somehow. :)

I expect November will be a quiet month in the blogosphere - at least in the blogs I follow. I'm not planning to do NaNo, but I'll probably get more work done on my novel anyway because my blogging friends will be posting less often. Best of luck. I'm sure you'll be a winner.

It's hard to stay away PJ... I'm not doing so well yet, but then again, it is not November 1st yet either...

Thanks so much David! I really appreciate those words of encouragement!

I thought the same thing Jeane - if there was ever a good time to take a month off, November might be it for those of us with writer blogs, anyway.
